Every year, many of the most talented young adults from the region are forced to push aside their dreams of a better life because of immediate economic need. Many take full-time jobs without graduating high school, and of the few who do attend college, the pressures of family, social, and economic issues combine to create a high dropout rate.
The demand for a college-educated workforce has grown significantly over the past 30 years and that trend is expected to continue. As the job market grows, most job opportunities will require some type of post-secondary education. Individuals that only possess a high school diploma will have fewer employment options.

PCF students receive scholarship money, mentoring from successful members of the community, and help finding internships and building a professional network so they can achieve their career goals. We bridge the gap of financial and personal resources to put success within their grasp.
Each PCF student who obtains a college diploma helps a family improve its circumstances, strengthens our community, and adds to the Bay Area’s economic growth. Just as importantly, they inspire others in their community to follow in their footsteps.
